The iPad 2 Announced!

Steve Jobs took to the stage in San Francisco to unveil the Apple iPad 2. Thinner and lighter that its predecessor, it comes packing a dual-core A5 processor, two cameras and the added bonuses of iOS 4.5.
Well, is it worth it?
Looking hardware wise, and style wise, the iPad 2 is a snappy gadget but other tablet devices like: BlackBerry's Play Book, Samsung's Galaxy Tab are also not bad.
The new iPad 2 is 33% thinner and 15% lighter than the iPad. Powered by the new dual-core Apple A5 chip, the new tablet, according to Apple, is 9x faster than old version. While iPad has no cameras, Apple adds two cameras, one on the front and on on the back, to the iPad 2 for FaceTime video calling and photo shooting. The back camera can record 720p HD video at up to 30fps.

The iPad 2 comes with a 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS multitouch display with 1024×768 resolution at 132ppi, and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. It also packs Bluetooth support, 3-axis gyro, accelerometer, digital compass and ambient light sensor. WiFi-only and WiFi+3G versions are available and the latter will be available in two models, one with UMTS/HSDPA/GSM/EDGE support and the Verizon model that supports CDMA EV-DO Rev. A data. 3G version also includes GPS/A-GPS.

The iPad 2 will be available in Black and White. It will be released in the US on 11 March, and in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK on March 25.
